CATI SURVEY 2026
CATI SURVEY 2026

Laboratory of Media Studies at University of Warsaw (UBM UW) and the Jagiellonian University's Institute of Journalism, Media and Social Communication (IDMiKS UJ) are launching a nationwide public opinion survey that will run throughout the week (April 20-24, 2026). The project, titled "Poles on the Regulation of Social Media and Child Protection Online. CATI Survey 2026," is being jointly implemented by both centers as part of the agreement on scientific cooperation between the University of Warsaw and the Jagiellonian University in the field of media and social communication research signed on March 5, 2026.

This year's survey topic
The survey focuses on Poles' attitudes towards the regulation of digital space – an area that has become one of the most hotly debated in public debate in Poland and globally in recent years. Respondents answer five questions regarding, among other things, Individual moderation practices in social media (blocking and removing content deemed harmful), the minimum age for creating an account on social media sites, and restrictions on sharing.
The collected data will be analyzed taking into account the socio-demographic characteristics of the respondents (including age, gender, education, place of residence, parenthood), which will allow us to show how Poles' opinions on these matters vary depending on social group and stage of life.

Methodology
The survey is conducted using the CATI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interview) method, conducted in parallel by two specially prepared CATI studios at the University of Warsaw and the Jagiellonian University. The survey runs from April 20th to 24th. The collected data will be used to prepare a report, which will be published in Polish and English and made available to the public in a few weeks.
