On October 22-23 this year, another edition of the international CEECOM conference took place under the title "New Communication Revolution". During the two days of debates, apart from keynote speakers' speeches, special sessions and discussions with journalists, over 90 papers could be heard.
During the conference, prof. Tomasz Gackowski delivered a presentation entitled "Who do you believe, and who do you support in politics? Preliminary results of the experiment (triangulation of methods - eye-tracking, face tracking, questionnaire, IDI). The study analyzed the consistency of election declarations with the declared support for certain political views, the respondent's identification with known (expressive) statements of leading politicians without indicating their authors, and the extent to which the respondent's identification with these statements changes when the author of a given quote is revealed. The project was carried out using the triangulation of research methods and techniques: questionnaires, in-depth individual interviews and facetracking measurements.
Dr Karolina Brylska’s paper entitled "The use of biometric measurements in assessing the effectiveness of pubDr awareness campaigns - research opportunities and challenges", highlighted the results of an extensive query devoted to the use of biometric measurements to assess the effectiveness of social campaigns. The review covered the most important scientific databases of scientific texts (Web of Science, Scopus, Google Scholar) from 2010 to 2021. The study results presented in the paper, related to the following questions: to what extent are biometric measurements used to evaluate social campaigns? How is the methodology of this type of research project structured? What is the content of this analysis? What difficulties and challenges arise in this type of research? And, most importantly: what findings regarding the effectiveness of individual forms and content of social campaigns result from the studies conducted so far? The conclusions were discussed in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Moreover, the LBM was represented by Marlena Sztyber, MA and Katarzyna Piórecka, MA, who delivered the presentation entitled "Consumer TV habits during the COVID-19 pandemic - newscasts in the times of social isolation" and Martyna Dudziak-Kisio, MA with the paper "Participatory culture in the social media - the birth and development of the Visible Hand Movement during the Covid-19 pandemic" (delivered together with Wojciech Dudziak, MA).
