Although many ambitious and entrepreneurial women in Poland and around the world achieve success, their presence in the media, especially in areas such as politics, economics, and sports, is smaller than that of men. The media plays a key role in shaping social norms, yet gender inequalities persist in media portrayals, where women are often depicted in the context of family, home, or appearance.

During the debate "The Role of the Media in Shaping the Image of Women" at the Science Festival in Warsaw, experts will discuss the causes of women's underrepresentation in the media and explore how changes can be made to ensure equal access to media space for both women and men. LBM UW was represented by Dr. Karolina Brylska.

Simultaneously, a second debate titled "Disinformation in Times of Crisis" will take place, where participants will discuss the challenges related to the spread of false information during crises, such as pandemics or natural disasters. The debate will cover the effectiveness of disinformation-fighting tools and the impact of such efforts on media trust. Prof. Tomasz Gackowski represented LBM in this debate.

Both debates were moderated by Dr. Emilia Zakrzewska from the Faculty of Journalism, Information and Book Studies at the University of Warsaw.
