This year’s ECIL – European Conference on Information Literacy – has come to an end!
It has been an exceptionally inspiring event – full of excellent presentations and engaging discussions in the picturesque city of Bamberg.
On the first day of the conference (22 September 2025), during the panel “AI Integration and Readiness in Higher Education”, prof. Anna Mierzecka presented the results of the study: “Of course, I can do it – I just don’t want to!”: An Emotional and Structural AI Readiness Scale, co-authored with prof. Małgorzata Kisilowska-Szurmińska, dr Karolina Brylska, and dr Marek Deja.
On Tuesday (23 September 2025), during the poster session, our team member – Natalia Strąk, a student of API at our Faculty and a representative of the Media Studies Research Student Group – presented her poster: “AI and Information Literacy: Step Forward or Step Back? The Polish Perspective".
On the third day (24 September 2025), prof. Małgorzata Kisilowska-Szurmińska opened the session “Library Digital Transformation and AI Integration” with her presentation “Librarians’ Attitudes Towards AI: AI-Enhanced Metadata Creation and Management as New Challenges in Workplace Information Literacy". The presentation summarized research conducted jointly with prof. Anna Mierzecka, prof. Ying-Hsaang Liu, and Natalia Strąk.
Finally, yesterday – 25 September 2025 – prof. Anna Mierzecka (in collaboration with dr Karolina Brylska) spoke at the closing panel of the conference, presenting the Polish contribution to the project “Academic Librarians’ Responses to Mis/Disinformation: A Cross-Country Study” – an international research initiative uniting over 20 countries across six continents!
