Data Collection
The uw.edu.pl website stores HTTP requests directed to our server. The following information is stored in log files:
- public IP address of the computer from which the request was sent,
- client workstation name,
- number of bytes sent by the server,
- URL of the page previously visited by the user,
- information about the user’s browser,
- information about errors that occurred during HTTP transaction processing.
Use of Data
The collected logs are stored for an indefinite period as auxiliary material for website administration. The information contained therein is not disclosed to anyone except authorized personnel responsible for administering the website.

Purposes and Legal Bases for Processing
Personal data are processed for the purpose of:
- communication with users – Article 6(1)(c) GDPR[2],
- improving the quality of the controller’s services – Article 6(1)(f) GDPR,
- sending newsletters – Article 6(1)(a) GDPR,
- adding users to a media mailing list – Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.
Consent for personal data processing may be withdrawn at any time by sending an email to: redakcja.www@uw.edu.pl. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before its withdrawal.
Recipients of Personal Data
Your data will be accessible to authorized employees and collaborators of the University of Warsaw. Data may also be transferred to entities entrusted by the controller with performing specific activities requiring data processing.
Data Retention Period
Data will be stored until the purpose for which they were collected is fulfilled, and subsequently in accordance with applicable archival regulations.
Rights Related to Data Processing
Users have the right to:
- access their data and receive a copy,
- rectify their data,
- restrict processing,
- erase data (subject to Article 17(3) GDPR),
- lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office.
Obligation to Provide Data and Consequences of Failure to Provide Them
Providing data is mandatory where required by law. In cases where processing is based on consent, providing data is voluntary; however, failure to provide data may hinder the achievement of specific purposes.
