We present to you the volume entitled "Media Varia. Units - societies - technologies”, which is the result of the 9th and 10th Polish National Methodological Conferences of Media Studies.

This volume really shows the enormous power of the media. Their diversity and expansiveness in social life make them one of the most important, if not the most important factor determining the way of functioning of modern man - the hypermedia man.

We see it and understand it all even more now when we present to you the publication we worked on in the historical period for mankind - the coronavirus pandemic and the lockdowns of entire countries, economies, and societies unprecedented in modern history.

Thanks to the media and modern technologies, the time of separation and loneliness seemed easier to bear. How much has this period changed us? When reading this volume, it is worth remembering this context and the still perceived omnipotence of contemporary media and technology.
