The year 2025 was another intense period of work for us, filled with conferences, research projects, and new challenges. It was a time for implementing specific activities, testing solutions in practice, and systematically developing our research.

Last year, we worked on grant-funded research projects, developed international collaborations, and actively participated in scientific events in Poland and abroad. Simultaneously, publications - scientific articles, books, and reports - were produced as a result of these activities.

This period was also marked by teamwork - daily collaboration between researchers, analysts, and specialists who combined methodological, technological, and organizational expertise. This enabled us to conduct several initiatives simultaneously, maintain high research quality, and efficiently achieve our goals.

The year 2025 also brought new technological implementations that significantly improved our research and organizational work. We developed and integrated tools for data analysis, process automation, and research in digital environments, including solutions supporting remote measurements, biometric analysis, and teamwork. These implementations have allowed us to increase the scale of our projects, improve data quality, and shorten research completion times.

  • Professor Tomasz Gackowski presented a visiting professor's lecture, "The Need for Triangulation of Methods, Data, and Theories in the Age of AI/VR/AR in Examples of Recent Research Projects," at the Faculty of Philology, University of Lodz.
  • We organized the LBM+ Biometrics Seminar

We’ve also completed numerous projects – here are just a few:

  • Conducted a CATI survey (with 1,100 respondents!)
  • We participate in the IDUB and SPUB programs.
  • We conducted work and meetings as part of the project "Artificial Intelligence and Society - A Comparative Study. Opportunities, Threats, Attitudes, and Practices of Media Users in Germany and Poland," funded by The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).
  • We are involved in the project "NEWSUSE: Incentivizing Citizen Exposure to Quality News Online" as part of an ERC Consolidator grant received by Professor Magdalena Wojcieszak.
  • As part of inter-faculty collaboration with the Faculty of Applied Linguistics, the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies, and funding from SPUB, we conducted research with researchers from outside the LBM UW, in which we provided methodological, equipment, technical and analytical support:

  • We conducted the research project "Poles' Emotional Reactions to Donald J. Trump's Inaugural Speech."
  • Marcin Łączyński, M.A., co-authored the educational game "Osiedle z klimatem" (A Climate-Friendly Housing Estate).
  • M.Sc. Eng. Adam Balcerzak led the workshop "Navigating communication in the age of AI" as part of the Communications Working Group staff training organized by the 4EU+ alliance.
  • As part of the IDUB-funded project "Creation of promotional materials and preparation of a blog dedicated to the presentation and promotion of selected research projects carried out by the LBM UW team," Adam Balcerzak, M.Sc. Eng., created a blog at https://blog.lbm.uw.edu.pl/.
  • We held a competition for the implementation of a research project at LBM. The project by Dr. Ewa Modrzejewska (Faculty of Polish Studies, University of Warsaw) was selected.

Other achievements:

  • Members of the LBM have taken up positions in the prestigious Mediatization Section ECREA.
    The head of the LBM UW, Prof. Tomasz Gackowski, will serve for a second term as Co-chair, and Marlena Sztyber-Popko, M.A., has been elected Vice-chair.
  • Professor Tomasz Gackowski has been appointed to the Management Board of the University of Warsaw Foundation for the 2024-2028 term.
