We recommend the new article “The Power of Simple Language: How Clear Communication Builds Accessibility, Safety, and Trust,” based on a survey conducted by dr. hab. Jacek Wasilewski. The study was commissioned by PKO Bank Polski, and its results are now available on the bank’s website.
How can we strengthen trust and security in a neurodiverse world? What role does the language we use play in this process?
The study shows how neuroatypical individuals perceive texts regarding, for example, how interest is calculated or sections of the terms and conditions. The research highlights the importance of using, among other things, plain language in such communications, which enhances their effectiveness.
At the same time, the report emphasises the lack of knowledge regarding the meaning of the term “neurodiversity.” Half of the respondents were unfamiliar with it, which may translate into a lack of awareness that simplifying the form of communications (both visual and verbal) would improve their reception.
