The Laboratory of Media Studies at the University of Warsaw took part in the 26th Congress of Public Relations Professionals! The Chief of LBM UW, Professor Tomasz Gackowski, delivered a presentation entitled “Polarised Media: On the Sources of Disinformation in the Post-Truth Era”, sharing the latest research findings of LBM UW.

During the presentation, participants learned, among other things, how media polarisation can increase the effectiveness of disinformation and what public attitudes towards media regulation and children’s safety emerge from the CATI 2026 report. As a reminder, more than 76% of respondents support fines for online hate speech, while as many as 94% favour restrictions on smartphone use in schools.

We are pleased that our laboratory had the opportunity to take part in an event that brings together industry leaders and fosters debate on the future of communication.
