Events in Ukraine in Polish media and public reception

At today's seminar, three research reports were published during the seminar organized by the Laboratory of Media Studies of the UW. During the conference held in the Column Hall of the Faculty of Journalism, Information and Book Studies, members of the LBM UW team presented conclusions from almost two-year research.

During the seminar members of the LBM UW team will present the conclusions of three research reports:
- Polish press discourse on conflict in Ukraine. Comparative Perspective 2014-2015 - how Polish journalists interpreted and predicted events in Ukraine?
- Poles on the conflict in Ukraine - LBM UW poll - what do Poles think about the people responsible for this conflict and how do they assess the credibility of the media?
- Conflict in Ukraine with Poles' eyes - what do they see and what they see in their memes? - how we understand ambiguous and sometimes only humorous internet memes about the conflict
The meeting will be opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, Information and Book Studies of the University of Warsaw, Dean of the Faculty. Prof. Janusz Adamowski at the head.
Research results will be commented by experts:
Wojciech Konończuk - head of Belarus, Ukraine and Moldova at the Center for Eastern Studies
Daniel Szeligowski - Eastern Europe program analyst at the Polish Institute of International Affairs

Paul Levinson at UW - Virtual lecture on social media

Paul Levinson - world famous media studies researcher - with a virtual lecture at WDIB UW.
Professor Paul Levinson will be a guest at the Faculty of Journalism, Information and Book Studies at the University of Warsaw. December 8 at 15.00, in the Column Hall building at ul. Bednarska 2/4, professor will give a lecture on the new media via Skype.
