Prof. Magdalena Wojcieszak has received an ERC Consolidator grant (€2 million) for the project NEWSUSE: Incentivizing Citizen Exposure to Quality News Online. In today's world, many people feel anxious about information bubbles or fake news.
The project aims to encourage citizens to obtain balanced information. "Incentivizing Citizen Exposure to Quality News Online: Framework and Tools (NEWSUSE)".
Project thesis defense "Evaluation of the usefulness of biometric data measurements through the implementation of a custom video game focusing on a cognitive approach"



On Monday, January 8, 2024, the defense of the project "Assessing the relevance of biometric data measurements by implementing a customized video game focusing on a cognitive approach" took place. - Olivier Bouel de Mareuil and Robin Brissuaud.
It was implemented by the Laboratory of Media Studies UW, together with the Saint-Cyr Military Academy.
Cadets Olivier Boula de Mareuil and Robin Brissiaud worked programmatically in the Unreal 5 environment on the final result of the project, which is a puzzle game set in the building of a military base.
As part of their stay, in addition to producing the game, pilot tests were conducted, and the cadets gained knowledge in game design and conducting biometric tests.
LBM members at "11th Machine Intelligence and Digital Interaction MIDI Conference"
Members of the Laboratory od Media Studies UW, Adam Balcerzak, M.Sc., and Marcin Łączyński, M.Sc., participated in the virtual "11th Machine Intelligence and Digital Interaction MIDI Conference" #MIDIConference in December 2023, where in a talk entitled "Real-time gameplay data and biometric measurement integration as a data source for game user research" they presented the results of their research, which is one of the outcomes of a project carried out jointly with the Military Academy in Saint-Cyr.
A paper with the same title, also co-authored by Prof. Tomasz Gackowski and Prof. Aline Hufschmitt, will be published in a post-conference book by the Springer publishing house Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems Series.
