Scientific seminar: The researcher in the world of artificial intelligence, metaverses and virtual reality

On May 23, 2023, the Faculty of Journalism, Information, and Book Studies hosted a scientific seminar organized by the Student Scientific Association of Media Analysis and the Laboratory of Media Studies titled: "The Researcher in the World of Artificial Intelligence, Metaverses, and Virtual Reality."
During the seminar, scientists and social researchers elaborated on the most important aspects of these phenomena. The invited experts discussed various issues, including:
1. How to conduct scientific research in the virtual world?
2. Artificial intelligence, metaverses, and virtual reality - opportunity or threat?
3. AI as a paradigm for scientific research.

Dr hab. Anna Mierzecka on LIBRARIES IN THE DIGITAL AGE (LIDA) 2023
On May 24-26, 2023, Anna Mierzecka, PhD, represented the Laboratory of Media Studies at the LIBRARIES IN THE DIGITAL AGE (LIDA) conference (Osijek, Croatia, May 24-26, 2023). Professor Jamie Johnston and Anna Mierzecka presented the results of the international project: PubLIB for Refugees conducted in collaboration with Máté Tóthh (University of Pécs, Hungary), Małgorzata Kisilowska (University of Warsaw, Poland), Magdalena Magdalena Alicja Paul (University of Warsaw, Poland), Andreas Vårheim (UiT The Arctic University of Norway; Norway), Casper Hvenegaard Rasmussen (University of Copenhagen, Denmark), Kerstin Rydbeck (Uppsala University, Sweden), Ágústa Pálsdóttir(University of Iceland, Iceland), Henrik Jochumsen (University of Copenhagen, Denmark), Mahmood Khosrowjerdi (Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences, Norway), Roswitha Skare (Arctic University of Norway (UiT).

We are pleased to announce that the Jury of the Competition has selected a group of Winners of the 9th edition of the National Competition for the Best Master's Thesis in Media Studies - Medi@stery.
Big applause for Ms. Wiktoria Nylec, a graduate of the Faculty of Journalism, Information and Book Studies at the University of Warsaw.
Wiktoria Nylec received the second prize in the #mediastery competition for the best master's thesis entitled: "National identity during the crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border on the example of the weekly "Sieci" written under the supervision of dr hab. prof. University of Warsaw Tomasz Gackowski 🏆.
